Still waiting....

My midwife came by this afternoon and I was 2-3 cm dilated and 80% effaced. She said it could be a week but she wasn't very convincing. We are in the clear for a non-hospital birth so that was a relief. My mom is here now and we are feeling pretty much ready. Baby is still posterior but she moved around a lot today and her head is very low.

My wonderful friend Missi took the kids for two hours and I got caught up on some things. I've done several loads of laundry and made fettucine with butternut squash and red pepper for dinner. Lots of back labor but still nothing to get too excited about.

Tomorrow's forecast calls for sunny skies and I have thought how nice it would be to labor and deliver in the daylight. (Not my usual pattern though...).

Mike checked to be sure we could get three car seats in the back of the car has a playlist ready for the IPOD dock at the Birthing Inn and I have packed up clothes, food, etc.... I never did get the list of things to bring (I was supposed to get it at my appt. tomorrow) but I think I remember from the last couple what we needed. Mike and Ben went out shopping for things while Kyri and I napped this afternoon.

We worked out the spelling tonight and told the kids what the name was. Kyri insisted it is "baby" and Ben said it was a "boy's name." We'll tell the rest of you when the baby makes her arrival, and is really a HER.

So glad your mom arrived. You, the baby and the whole family are in our prayers. Hope that baby stays in a bit longer. Glad Mike finally came up with a name.
