Career Exploration - Chiropractery & TV Chef

from Ben's mom

Yesterday I drove to Portland to see the chiropracter. My mom sees the same one so we scheduled at the same time so she could watch Ben.

The chiropracter wanted Ben and my mom to come back and see what he did to me. Ben thought the room with all its gadgets was the best ever. He ran around exploring, turning knobs and adjusting levers. Then came my adjustment in which I lie on my stomach (with a belly hole) and my sacroiliac joint is popped into place. There are loud abrupt noises and from an outsider's perspective, it looks like I could be getting hurt. Ben laughed hysterically through every adjustment, with Dr. Illo commenting that he wasn't very concerned about his mom. Dr. Illo agreed that chiropractery might be a career for Ben to explore since he loves gadgets and levers, and takes great delight in the sights and sounds of adjustments.

Recently, a friend gave me a DVD of a cooking show demonstration. While I was watching, Ben became mesmerized and laughed through the whole thing like he was watching the Comedy Hour. I got a little bored, but Ben didn't want me to turn it off. He took the whole thing in, but he still hasn't made us fresh goat cheese salad yet. Maybe someday?
