Easter Vigil

Mom and Dad took me to church in my pajamas. They put clothes over the top but still I was very comfy in my pajamas underneath. I was feeling a little sleepy but I had taken a long nap, so Mom said I could go. At church it was very dark and we went outside in the cold and there was a fire and we stood around it for a little bit. Then we marched back in and people told stories in the dark. We had these cool things that made light (Mom and Dad had not let me know about those before but I hope to find out where they keep it)so we could read our responses. And there were little fire lights up by the person telling the story. It felt very special and I folded my hands and listened. A little while later and I got so sleepy I couldn't help cuddling up with Mom. She had brought my blanket and so I was very comfortable. And then people started ringing bells. I thought I should wake up but I couldn't keep my eyes open.

The next morning when I woke up Mom and Dad were not so thrilled. "Oh, Ben, we went to bed after midnight. Aren't you tired?" That's when I knew it wasn't a dream.

Everyone kept talking about Easter and we went to Amira's house and there were more people than I had ever seen before in a house. There was a lot of food and a lot of toys, so many, it just made me tired. Mom says I'm an "introvert." I don't know what it is exactly but she says that too many people overwhelm me, and I get very tired. She says that she and Dad understand.
