Oregon Weekend

• Mike spent Independence Day weekend in Portland at the Waterfront Blues Festival with his friend Dave. It was a lovely, warm, summer weekend and Mike had his summer tan in no time. 
• Ben and Everleigh were both still showing signs of being sick so I was home with them until after Saturday evening when Ben wanted to go for a ride. So did I but couldn't think where I could go with sick kids. So I spontaneously packed up early and we drove to Oregon Saturday night where Kyrie was visiting my parents. 
• The result was two nice days with my mom and dad and Kyrie catching Everleigh's cold. Ah-well.
• Monday we picked up Mike on our way home. We were both completely exhausted and came home and put the kids to bed and watched fireworks in bed. Kyrie was particularly disappointed in our lack of celebratory spirit. Next year.
