Ben talks about places he wants to visit daily now. He has traced multiple maps of the United States. He was delighted to pour over a map of Virginia this week. Volume II of his Geography book was on climate and geology, physical geography. He lasted one page before he had found Volume III which was on the continents and oceans. He finished that one in less than a week.
When he learned Mike had taken me to Rome, he wanted Mike to tell him all about it. He wanted to see pictures.
Today he wanted to know if I loved living in England. (YES!) And then informed me that he really could hardly wait to visit the Sidney Opera House and the Great Wall of China. He talks sooo incessantly on these subjects that I often tune him out a bit.
Today I said, "Hey buddy, you can always stay here and live with me. Now, can I go on all these fun trips with you?"
"Sure, Mom." And that is what is best about being a mom.
I'm exhausted, frumpy, and I deal entirely too much with potty issues. But....
Everleigh smiles at me and coos and lights up when she sees me. She thinks I'm the most wonderful person in the world.
Ben wants to travel the world with me.
Kyri comes and says, "Watch this dance move." (Okay, Kyri is by far the most independent and already talks about getting married and leaving home. FRIGHTENING. But I'm still very important in her world.)
These years will pass all too fast. Someday, Ben might not necessarily dream of seeing the world with his mother. Everleigh may get past thinking I'm the most amazing person in the world. Kyri will dance for others and care more what they think.
These are special times.
