Adventures in house shopping

We went out over the weekend and looked at five more houses. This time my mom was not here. This time we had three kids, one who cried her little heart out at being in the car between stops. So every stop involved getting three kids out of their car seats and then putting them back in at the end.

Four of the houses were vacant which says a lot about our market. And the house I liked the most had an offer coming in on it. (We learned this after we looked at it.) The non-vacant house had warm cookies waiting on the counter for us, and a swing set (that stays) in the back. The kids and Mike bought into it and we've decided to make an offer on it tomorrow.

I think I'm good with this but it seems like such a momentous decision. I'm a little chicken about it. It is new on the market (the only occupied house) and we'll offer low. So we'll see. Stay tuned.

How exciting! Every time we had a showing I would boil some vanilla in water on the stove. One realtor who arrived early exclaimed, "Oooh, you're baking!" I quickly got rid of the pot and thought, yeah, something like that!

Praying for you as you search and make an offer! We were there just over a year ago. I agree with house-buying being such a momentous (and nerve-wracking) decision! Though maybe for a slightly different reason than you. I'm terrible at ANY decision, but especially one that isn't easily undone and has such far-reaching consequences!

Yay! It is exciting to be buying a house. We just sold our first house and signed a contract to buy our next house last week. I remember how terrified and excited we were when we bought our first house (and this next one, lol). Praying that you will find the perfect place for you. :)
