We took the three in for photos last week. I wanted to capture Everleigh as a little baby and the other two hadn't had portraits in a while. Everleigh didn't take to the experience and cried most of the time. The photographer was able to get a few good shots of her because she had Mike holding her. In these pictures, Mike is invisible in the photo (decked out in a black apron) but his arms are supporting all of his children.
And today as I was looking at these pictures again, it came to me that this is how my life should be. Despite the ups and downs of life I desire a pervading calm. The peace that comes from knowing I'm in my Father's arms. Even if He isn't visible. He is there.
