Hope

We met with Nancy, the amazing therapist today. She quickly diagnosed Evie as having a tongue problem, demonstrated said problem by switching out a nipple, doing some exercises with her and feeding her an oz. of milk in about 10 minutes (previously she wasn't getting that much for about four hours). Apparently Evie was using her tongue as a barrier and not drawing the milk in and swallowing. She taught us some exercises, told us a pacifier would actually be a help and sent us to Target for the right kind, gave us different bottle nipples and encouraged me that I should be able to nurse her with no problems very soon.

With some milk in her tummy, Everleigh settled into a nice little satisfied nap. She and her parents are going to relax and watch football and practice her tongue exercises tonight.

Meanwhile, her siblings are conducting all kinds of evil shenanigans for Grandpa and Grandma. They seemed to have stepped up the creativity for the occasion. Oh boy.

That is such wonderful news about Evie. She will sleep better with a full tummy and then so will you two.
What's with the older two? Lucky
your Mom has lots of patience.

Thank God for a resolution to the problem. Praying that the exercises go well and you soon will all get some sleep and Evie a big growth spurt. Love you guys.

I'm glad to hear you found the solution! Daniel had some feeding issues when he came to us at 3 months. He could never seem to get a good rhythm going and sometimes I would literally squirt the formula into his open mouth just so he could eat. Probabaly not the best thing to do but it worked!

Isn't it amazing when you meet someone who knows exactly what the problem is, and can help you remedy the situation quickly? I'm very glad for you guys that things are looking up. Merry Christmas, and enjoy the football. =)
