In Memoriam

Mike's former boss, Chris Klicka, died Monday of multiple sclerosis. I guess we knew this was coming but as we followed his wife's online journal the last several weeks, it was hard to believe it was coming this soon. Chris was just one of those really vibrant, passionate people who never gave up. He worked longer than anyone thought he should have, he traveled to homeschooling conferences that would have kept anyone else with his limitations at home, and he never failed to be interested in the lives of those he worked with (which sometimes annoyed my very private husband to no end). I can still hear his cane clicking down the hallway as he made his way into the office to work at the job he loved.

Chris was Mike's boss when he finished law school, took the Bar, was married, had his first child, and then officially became an attorney. He was the officiating attorney who swore him in as a member of the legal profession.

We rejoice that Chris was more than prepared for death and the life beyond but we mourn with his wife Tracy, their children, and his parents. He will be missed.

How wonderful to know we'll see him again in Heaven sans the cane. I didn't realize he swore Mike in. How special.
