Kindergarten map

So this is what our Kindergarten schedule/curriculum looks like:

Bible/Faith (10 minutes):
Leading Little Ones to God
Involves a little lesson, Scripture reading, memory verse and song.

Reading (10 minutes):
We are accomplishing this by reading children's literature and poetry everyday. Since Ben has taught himself to read there really isn't a need for more than practice right now.

Math (10 minutes): Mathematical Reasoning Level A

Handwriting/Keyboarding (10 minutes): Hooked on Handwriting (completed already)
Typing Instructor (he isn't really liking this that well...he loved a sample version of one that was a lot more expensive but we are taking it easy on this since he doesn't like the emphasis on WPM).

Subjects by day (20 minutes/day):

Science (Monday): Everybody Has a Body

Art/Music (Tuesday): Baby Lamb's Book of Art
Looking at Pictures: An Introduction to Art for Young People (completed)
Imaginary Gardens: An Introduction to Poetry and Art for Young People

Language (Weds): First Thousand Words in Latin
Latin Words Sticker Book

Logic (Thursday): Mindbenders and Big Book of Mazes

Social Studies (Friday): See Inside Famous Buildings
Beginning Geography: How to Use a Map

Some of these texts may take us more than a year and that is ok. Some we have already flown through. Some are for Kindergarten and some are for 1st grade. I chose them all carefully in order to capture Ben's interest and learning style (visual). Some we'll check out from the library. All in all, I spent less than $140, which isn't too bad.

Rachelle, this is awesome and inspiring. I'm going to save it to reference next year. You and Ben will have so many good memories this year.
