from the mom
Yesterday was not a good advertisement for the life of a stay-at-home mom. My firstborn has been exhibiting his strongwilled nature all week, defying me at every turn. Now his sister has discovered she has a mind of her own. And then there is potty-training....
After an unexpected load of laundry, a thorough cleaning of the bathroom, and a mid-day shower for the son, I was pretty much not fit for family life. I did get dinner made and when M came home, I was out the door.
I returned 3 hours later after a hair cut, new makeup, dinner on my own reading a magazine, and a Pampered Chef party. Much refreshed. Ready to tackle another day in thte life of a stay-at-home mom.

Yeah! Sounds like a FANTASTIC night out for you. I am so glad you got it, you so needed and deserved it. :) Yeah for Daddy's who are able to be home and take care of and play with the kids.
I had a tearful conversation with Kevin the other week how I need two nights a month to go somewhere by myself. Now that he's done with school, maybe that will happen!! Moms definitely need a break now and then.
Good for you! I am gradually getting better at taking time for myself. The whole family definitely benefits from a de-stressed mom.
I haven't read blogs for awhile, and I just got all caught up on yours... and can't wait to come see you! Bring on October!!
