from the mom
We watched Jade Friday and Saturday while her mom worked at a homeschooling convention and her dad was away on business. Ben and Kyri thought it was great fun to have her around and we enjoyed her a lot.
Saturday we took the three kids to the zoo and experienced what is like to be outnumbered. We rented the double stroller for the occasion but none of the kids wanted to ride in. So we were constantly trying to keep track of them and keep one or two belted in the stroller.
Sunday we went to a park at the base of the Puget Sound about 20 minutes from our house. We traversed the beach watched a seal. Ben discovered the joy of binoculars, to add to his discovery of the magnifying glass he learned to use earlier in the week.
We have voted Ben most likely to be a museum curator because he reads EVERYTHING we come across. At the zoo, he wants to read all the information about the animals and we are constantly urging him to come along. Kyri is most likely to be a park ranger, for her love of the out of doors. She is always enthusiastic when we are outside, particularly on hikes or at the beach.
