More Children's Literature

from the mom

Kyri loves Going to Sleep on the Farm, a beautifully illustrated and wonderful book by Wendy Cheyette Lewison. Ben loves it too because he has learned to read new words from it. It's rhythm made learning them easy. And the story, about different animals bedding down for the night, helps Kyri's nighttime routine.

Another favorite is Hello Hello by Miriam Schlein. This book is about the ways in which different animals say "hello" and Kyri likes to try out these different ways.

Ben isn't quite to the point of reading Kyri a book yet, but he likes to help me read to her and she is usually patient about it. They both love books. Kyri will get a book and then look at me and point to a seat. Ben can be caught after dark, attempting to read in bed. We often find his light on when we check on him before going to bed ourselves. Consequently we'll be reviewing more children's lit together.

Hurray for reading in bed! As his godfather, I highly approve. I used to hide my lamp under the bedclothes so Dad and Mom couldn't see me reading :)

I used a flashlight!! Could be why my glasses are so thick. But I still love to read.
