from the mom
I had to run an errand to a friend's today and decided to stop and get us both pumpkin spice lattes. Happily when I arrived at the drive through, all drinks were 50% off to celebrate our favorite coffee place's anniversary! Hurray! The weather has largely been cold, dark, and rainy and all I want to do is read and drink hot drinks, preferably fattening ones. Not good.
Over the weekend I was at a garage sale and tried talking on the phone to my brother while I looked. I typically shop with pockets and a small amount of cash. But I was in my workout clothes and had no pockets. I had just gone to the ATM to get money for Farmer's Market and garage saling and so I had my keys and $42. I saw a lady look at me funny and thought I must be too close to her so I moved away. A few minutes later I realized she had split and all my money had too. I quickly ended my conversation and started looking everywhere for my money. The ladies running the sale noticed my concern. They felt so bad they gave me the stuff I was looking at for free. One thought the lady had stolen my money because she had seen it in my hand until that lady had been right beside me. I was angry at her, angry at me. So I'm back to my old rules: 1) Always shop with pockets; and 2) never carry more than $15.
On the way to school today Ben started saying: "I love Mommy, I love Ben, I love Daddy." He worked his way through his family but got bogged down with Mike's siblings. He has 9 aunts and uncles, which is a lot to remember when you're 3.
