21 Again

from the mom

I celebrated a birthday this week. One of the joys of birthdays is coupons for free stuff. So off to Red Robin for my free birthday burger (Sante Fe with a Boca patty and whole wheat bun). The waiter eyed my birthday coupon and asked whose birthday it was. Then he brought the staff back to sing. "How old are you?" he asked. "Old enough to not answer that question anymore," I shot back. "Let's just say '21,'" my husband added. At which point Waiter Man told the whole restaurant I was there celebrating my 21st birthday. And I wanted to die of humiliation. I guess I'd rather be 30-s...something than 21 with two children.

Happy birthday! And I'd rather be 30-something than 21 anyday. Fewer problems with angst.

Happy birthday, Rachelle (a little late)! For what it's worth, I still don't think you look a day over 30.
