Those Sidebars, My Back, and Heading for the Weekend

from the mom

I really should have made both of the sidebars regular blog fodder. They are both very comment-worthy. Leave your comments please. (I love comments.) We were in D.C. the day before Joshua Bell's L'Enfant Metro stop performance.

My back is really not that serious. I don't feel that way when it is out, but it only gets this way when I have a baby and it takes a few adjustments before it holds. Probably because I'm lifting car seats and babies, and bending to change diapers and pick people up. But he said if I made it 24 hours this time, I should make it. And I did. I feel ready to go and lose some of these extra pounds. (All of the extra ones would be nice.)

I found Ben a Seattle Seahawk helmet at a garage sale for $1.50 today. Speaking of the Seahawks, the 2007-08 schedule is out.

M is having an insane day at work and next week promises to be more of the same. So I'm glad it is Friday.

Loved the Joshua Bell link and for the record I know I would have recognized him because he has a distinct style and sound.

Glad your back is better! Take care of yourself (I know you tend to put your self last). How long was the wait this time? You should take a survey and see what all your blog readers think is "long".

I can't say that I've ever knowingly listened to Joshua Bell -- I have a reactionary aversion to classical music after my ATI days -- but I flatter myself that I'd have realized he wasn't a run-of-the-mill performer!

The trouble with world-class musicians, of course, is that they're so good they make it look easy, so you rush by thinking, "He's pretty good at that," not knowing that what he's playing could break an ordinary person's fingers.
