Drama Queen Tales

from Kyri

Last night my dad kept telling me about all the fun we were going to have and all the special things we do when Mommy goes out for a night with the girls. I couldn't believe she would go off to book group without me. After all, it is a girl thing.

But she did. I had a good time for a while. Then Dad tried to give me that passy thing with milk in it. Ick! That is a poor substitute for the real thing. Then I wondered when the real thing would be available. And I started to worry. And get a little mad.

When Mom showed up a LONG time later, I determined to let her know just how wrong her decision to leave me was. When Dad opened the door to let her in I put on my best "Fine, just leave me" face. I stared her down stonily. But she kept smiling at me and telling me she had missed me too. When Dad told her I wouldn't drink milk that other way, she offered me some milk. She really knows how to wear me down.

And before I knew it I was kissing her over and over, leaving her face all wet and shiny. I was smiling at her and holding her face and hair and telling her how glad I was that she was my mom. I didn't mean to forgive her so quickly. But I think she got the point.
