from the mom
Garage Sales: Last weekend I stopped by a few garage sales and found Ben a tricycle, some toys for Kyri, and for Ben two pairs of shoes (dress and sandals) in his size. I love spring garage sales. Less people get up and go on rainy spring mornings, and I have a better chance at really good bargains.
Farmer's Market: I jumped on the Farmer's Market website and discovered that it starts this Thursday! Since discovering Farmer's Markets I have dreaded picking out produce in the grocery store.
Easter: As we walk through Holy Week, the hope of Easter shines in the little things. I read in a devotional that we live our lives on two levels this week. It is like having a TV with a small window and a large window. We go about our daily lives, feeding and bathing our kids, picking up toys, making dinner. But in a small screen, we are walking the streets of Jerusalem 2000 years ago as we prepare for the events that will change our lives for all time.
New Life: Kyri's godmom called from Illinois this morning to tell me she is expecting. This has been a crazy couple of months for them with illness and hospitalization for their daughter (our goddaughter). I talked to her two days ago and we were having the "do we have the energy to have one more?" conversation. So I was excited to hear her happy (though shocked) voice announce: "I'm pregnant." They are fantastic parents, so I am glad for the world that they will raise another child.
Sunshine: We've had mainly spring showers, but today is brilliant sunshine.
