from Ben's mom
Yesterday, we had record high heat (90) in Olympia. Today we're supposed to achieve another record-setting 96 degrees. It is similar to having snow in Honolulu. Because we have heat so rarely, many go without air conditioning at home and in their cars. We're grateful we moved into a place with A/C just a month ago. I haven't used it yet, but today we'll try it out!
My friend Heidi and her parents and kids stopped by over the weekend for a quick lunch. Heidi is a missionary in Africa and I don't get to see her all that often. Tonight and tomorrow I'll be spending time with my friend Janet who lives in Hong Kong. So it has been an international couple of days.
We wore Ben out yesterday and he slept in a couple of hours which was nice for his mother. I hiked Snoqualmie Falls yesterday after stopping off to buy a short-sleeved maternity shirt. I'm 21 weeks and half way done with my pregnancy!
