Top 5 Movie Kisses

from Ben's mom

Truthfully, I panicked when I saw the comment by my beloved saying I was capable of this post. It is true that I had a running Top 5 for a LONG time. However, it was a list born of not kissing anyone myself. Once that started in earnest, I kinda forgot about the good movie kisses. But with a little help, I have called forth from the depths of memory.... Please note that the movies here are in no way recommended for moral content, though all of them do have some redeeming value. As I used to say before I showed movies to Lindsay, Dana, and Mike: The content of this movie doesn't necessarily reflect the values and beliefs of this household.

5.) Brendan Fraser and Ricki Lake, Mrs. Winterborn - A rich aristocrat falls for the girl from the wrong side of the tracks. The kiss is actually a series of kisses that occur while Fraser is attempting to teach Lake the tango. At this point, he has not acknowledged any feelings for her. The tango gets a little carried away. There is some rough language in this one, but it is a nice rags to riches fairy tale.

4.) Brendan Fraser and Moira Kelly, With Honors - sadly, a movie I cannot fully recommend though it does have some very good lessons. Fraser and Kelly play platonic housemates with several other Harvard students. After a lot of stupidity on Kelly's part with other men, Fraser grabs her face and kisses her, to which she asks, "What are you doing?" His reply: "I'm ending our friendship." (It helps to watch the movie.)

3.) Cary Elwes and Helena Bonham Carter, Lady Jane - Based upon the life of Lady Jane Grey, Queen of England for 9 days after the death of Edward VI, Guilford comes to the room of Jane to apologize for an earlier fight. The two (married) begin discussing spiritual matters, only to have him kiss her. The rest, hmmm... well you'll have to watch it. The movie is great, but be warned, there are two slight nude scenes (in the dark).

2.) Sam Shephard and Diane Keaton, Baby Boom - Again, the sexual liberties in this movie are not recommended but it is a funny movie about the effect of motherhood on a successful business woman. Shephard tries to help Keaton change her tire and she starts pulling all this feminist stuff about not needing his help. He silences her with a rather passionate kiss that leaves her gaping. (They do know each other at this point.)

1.) Eric Stolz and Mary Stuart Masterson, Some Kind of Wonderful - An '80's teen flick, Masterson gives Stolz a lesson in kissing while she sits atop a vintage car in the garage he works in. If you want to learn how a woman wants to be kissed, this one is your primer.

Strange...rlr showed me all these movies while we were dating. Subliminal messaging?

My Big Fat Greek Wedding was pretty good, too.

Not that I would know first hand, he he he.

Obviously way too much time on your hands! A couple more kids could help you be a more rounded person.
