Raising My Parents

Since I'm the only kid my parents have, I am assuming they are rookies. So they have a little bit of excuse for failing to observe a few things about me. I try to help them out here and there as occasionally Mom mentions that she hopes I will be an older brother someday. I figure if that is going to be the case, I should probably work on training them better for the next one.

Lately, I've been pretty hungry. Mom keeps feeding me like I'm a baby and I'm a growing boy. This morning, I had to repeatedly tell her that I wasn't done with breakfast as she tried to wash my face and take away my bowl twice before I was done. She says that three bowls of oatmeal, three bowls of apple-blackberry sauce and a banana are a lot for a little boy. But I hadn't eaten since yesterday.

Last night I was exhausted. I dropped a few hints and no one was taking them. I even heard Mom say to Dad, "Ben will probably go to bed early tonight because he napped early." But they went back to what they were doing. Finally, I had to go get my passy and my blanket from my bed and bring them in the living room. Mom got it that time and Dad put me to bed. However, I wanted to cuddle first, and so I had to call out from my bed until Mom came in and cuddled with me for a few minutes.

Hopefully, they'll be better at this the next time around.

Ben, I am so glad you are there to help train your parents. They really do try hard, you know. And your Mom is one of the nicest and smartest people I know so the training should go fairly well.
