I have really enjoyed Christmas. I was a little sick and I had a tooth coming in, but I met so many new people (who seemed to know me already) and they were all really nice. Some of them even brought me presents. I didn't even know what a present was until Christmas. Now I know it is a lot of paper and it must be special paper because Mom lets me play with it and rip it up.
We stayed at a house with two dogs and I was happy to chase one of them all over. Apparently the other one might chase me because she had to stay someplace else. But I got to touch her and she licked my hand. That was the best. I laughed.
Mom left me with Uncle Mark. He was supposed to watch me for a few minutes while she did things in another room. Uncle Mark recognizes that I'm capable of being on my own for a bit, so he just kept doing what he was doing and I decided to go visit Grammy and find some toys. I could hear Mom go and ask Uncle Mark if Grammy had come to get me or if I had crawled to see her on my own. "Uhmm, I don't know. He was just here a minute ago. Mom must have gotten him." Grammy told Mom I had crawled on my own and Mom told Uncle Mark she wouldn't be able to recommend him to babysit anytime soon. But then this morning I snuck out on Mom and so she knows I'm fast and sneaky.
I miss Dad but at least I get to talk to him on the phone. Some things only Dad understands.

You and me Ben. If you want to live a life of adventure, of sneaking down the hall, or orbiting the globe, just come on holiday to your Uncle Mark's house.
