Football Season

Hey friends, NFL regular season play kicks off tonight with the Indianapolis Colts playing the New England Patriots. And I will be here with Mom while Dad watches the game with the guys. I really love football and it disappeared on me shortly after I was born. Mom and Dad have promised that I will have a chance to watch some games (on television) this season, perhaps with Grandpa. But apparently I am not invited to watch tonight's game. Bummer!

In other news, my mom and dad are very excited that I have started to clap. "Ben are you clapping?" Mom asked. Duh. Dad waved at me as he left after lunch and I realized after he was out the door that he was really leaving. So I waved. After the fact. And then I waved goodbye to Grammy after she called today on the phone. These things get parents very excited. Even better, Mom decided that I should get to hold the spoon a little when I eat. Now that's more like it!

Ben, it's a shame you didn't get to watch the game. The Best Team in the World won, so therefore it was a good one.

Of course, I didn't get to watch it either. Instead, I was up reading Old Testament Theology for class tomorrow. --DJ

If you think the payoff for waving and clapping is great, just wait until you start walking. Wow! Grownups can get very excited over this. It will take a lot of practise, but I promise you it is well worth the effort.
