One of the biggest shocks I encountered moving from being the mom of a boy to mothering girls is the whole clothes thing. Ben generally has always worn what I picked out for him, and worn it all day long. Well, not the socks. He hates to wear socks.
But the girls.... Well, neither of them reached 2 before the battles about their clothes began. Mismatched, seasonally wrong, occasion-inappropriate. At this stage it is every day. Some outlandish color/pattern combination, or two days ago, when the high was 3 degrees, Kyrie insisted on a pink sleeveless sundress. I have to hide their sandals and flip-flops and swimwear to keep them out of them.
Here is a dress that Kyrie wore in her Aunt Amber's wedding when she was just younger than Everleigh. Somehow it was discovered in the closet and for two solid weeks Everleigh wore it every day. She might start in something else, but eventually she would find it and wear it.
This particular photo captures her delight as she discovers the cool thing her seemingly normal coloring book from Uncle Mark does when she paints it with water. She went through the whole book in one sitting and I was able to get in 90 minutes of school time with no interruptions.
