I hit a dilemma when I started to pack up. I need to get rid of a lot of clutter now so our house looks more desirable. But we also want to sell some furniture at the last minute that we need to use until the very end. And having one garage sale is scary enough; two is out of the question.
So when Mike came home and said a friend had offered to have us bring things to their garage sale this weekend, I got busy. Yesterday I tagged and labeled and today I will help set it up briefly. It is supposed to "shower" all weekend; just hoping it turns out to be a profitable sale for our friends and help us eliminate some clutter.
As I was tagging I was reminded why my favorite garage sales are moving sales. Nothing like a cross-country move to inspire getting rid of almost everything. There is some good stuff going in to this sale. Since we used a 22 ft truck when we moved across the country with one child from a 1-bdrm apartment, and now we are going cross country from a 4-bdrm and have three children, I'm slightly terrified that an extra 4 ft truck is not going to do it.
Ben suggested multiple trips. Ha!

I intensely dislike doing garage sales. I'd almost rather pack up everything I want to get rid of, drop it at Goodwill, and claim it as a tax deduction. In fact, we've done that in the past.
I'm impressed that you're going ahead and tagging everything for sale. I hope you have good success with it!

P.S. I love Ben's idea :)
I hope you get some good weather there for your sale. At least you don't have to sit there for 2 days. That was soooo boring but I did get to meet and talk with some "interesting" people.
