"Oh yeah, Mom, I feel much better"

Ben has been doing very well on his diet. It is hard to see a difference, other than the growth spurt he has entered which may or may not be unrelated. Last week I asked him if he felt differently not eating gluten or dairy. "Oh yeah, Mom, I feel much better." So, that has made it all worth it.

Eating at home has not been as difficult as I thought and I'm getting all kinds of emails with coupons for gluten free/dairy free products. The gluten-free community even has it own version of Groupon deals so we have a bunch of baked goods in the freezer (pies, cup cakes, English muffins, bread crumbs, etc...). Eating out is by far the most difficult thing; it involves plotting and where he used to have choices, he usually has one thing he can eat. Which takes away the joy of dinner out so we haven't done it since.

He started treatment on an ondamed (http://www.ondamed.net/) last week and will be continuing weekly treatments for the next month. He used ondamed when he was 3 and made huge progress. (He was allergic to citrus fruits, nightshade vegetables, corn, egg whites, all food additives, etc....). He no longer has those allergies. He had also been allergic to dairy and also tested ok for a long time after that, so we are working to see what we can do. Everything I have learned about gluten and genetic modification has left us all eating less of it and I don't think that will change.

I am so glad he is feeling better. It has been a challenge for you all but, as usual, you are up for it. Such a strong family.
