- It hit 85 today, a summer high.
- My friend Judy came up from Portland yesterday to hang out with us. We went to see The Help with another friend. I'm looking for some Oscar nominations to come out of this one. Everyone nailed it; Octavia Spencer (Minny) was amazing. Jessica Chastain (Celia) and Emma Stone (Skeeter) looked exactly as I pictured their characters when I read the book. Viola Davis (Aibilene) was spot-on too. And Bryce Dallas Howard is a great actress; I just pictured Hilly bigger and less pretty. But her dad should be proud. The casting director should get an Oscar for sure. I could see this one many times over.
- Swimming lessons are over. Hallelujah. Ben made huge progress but I'm still hesitant to pay money for that next year.
- On to Vehicle Mechanics with Legos camp next week.
- School begins for Ben the following week.
- Fall is not in the air. I'm counting on a lovely Indian summer.

Summer is Here...and Almost Over

I wouldn't mind a nice Indian Summer... so long as it means temps don't rise above 85. (sigh)
43 days of 100+ degree weather here so far this summer. And no rain. Wish we could at least average our temperatures with you.
Seeing The Help with friends was wonderful. What a great movie. Brought back lots of memories of the 60's.
I had such, such fun with your family. Those are great kids.
