Lincoln Day Dinner

I was the wife of the guest speaker at the Mason County Lincoln Day dinner on Saturday. I rarely get to see Mike at work and I was in awe of him on Saturday night. I worked hard not to look awkward and to make small talk (not my gift as my close friends would tell you) as he mingled and answered questions and received congratulations on a good speech.  I met some fascinating people and lost all my bids at the silent auction. But I did do my part to raise some bids and make the County Republicans some money.

Meanwhile, my parents were in town to be grandparents and watched the kids.

It was a good time but I still am very glad he doesn't intend to run for office because I would make a horrible political wife. I could use a little more practice at dressing up, making small talk, and not getting too opinionated in public. HA!

We like that you're opinionated in public. Even though we disagree on many political things. We (read I) like that you are honest and real.

How's the article coming? :-)

Small talk with strangers. Ick.
Opinionated, yup. But that isn't a bad thing is it? We are Irish after all.
