Sunday evening I was working in the kitchen when I looked over and saw Ev in the process of standing. She stands frequently but usually not too far from something and there was nothing in the vicinity. I started saying, "go, Ev, go." She grinned and stood up and looked around. A crowd gathered. Well, her brother, sister, and Dad all came to watch. She took a step, fell, got up, clapped for herself a little, stepped again. fell. We watched her cheering and clapping as she mastered her first couple of steps. She wasn't sure about walking today but was fed up with crawling and walked around on her knees half the day. What she really loves is pushing around a kid's chair or her dog walker.
I did have to love as she cheered for herself and looked to all of us with a big grin. She loves the limelight.
