December 10

Raising kids is a pretty awesome task, even when the job is handled by a team of two....James Dobson

That's an understatement.

Fortunately the "awesomeness" of the task is made better by little sweetnesses. While Ev has been sick with a mega cold/flu/bronchitis this week, Ben stepped up. She was ready for a nap at 8:45am one day this week. I was rocking her to sleep and it was high time to get the other two breakfast. Ben came in and I told him I needed a few more minutes to get Everleigh to sleep.

"Mom, you're tired. Why don't you take a little nap too? We'll be fine," he said as he brought me a blanket and gave me a kiss. Ah....

Kyri was playing with a cut-out Nativity this week when she said, "Mary wanted to go out for dinner." (Me too!)

Meanwhile, I can look back at most of the difficult things in my life and see how God used them to prepare me for something else. Which has me worried about the sleep deprivation. I hope I am not being tortured for my faith someday and thinking about how these girls used sleep deprivation to prepare me for future torture. Just saying God.

I'm totally cracking up over the "what is this preparation for" question. I try not to think about that, either.

Ah Ben. R, you criticize yourself too much. Look what a wonderful young man you two have raised.
And handsome too!
Sorry about the cold Ev. Gary and I have been miserable with it also.
