Preschool Morning: Plant-Based Dye

This week Ben has been studying the Phoenicians....Ancient mariners and traders and known for purple dye. They made their dye from stinky snails. We made some using purple cabbage and alum.

Here are Ben and Jade making pasta necklaces with purple dye. Kyri participated in much of it but everyone was a little bit off yesterday and Kyri was in time out, allowing me to take a few photos.

I tried to focus on the chemistry side....Turning plants into dye and mixing in alum to make it work. :)

I know, I'm just teasing you. Jade was telling me all about it today when she saw you brought her the necklace:)
