Life has been...overwhelming and exhausting. The last two weeks have pushed me to the max. For all those people who think that three children aren't much more than two....YOU HAVE NO IDEA. We've encountered a drastic change, going from having an infant to toddler who moves around leaving destruction in her wake. And apparently, Kyri needs to rehash some of our her old 3-year old behaviors at 4. Yesterday, she plastered playdough on the sliding door, cut her own hair, and locked us out of one of the bathrooms. (Sound familiar?) Meanwhile, Ben is developing a sulky stubborn streak when he doesn't get his way and refuses to discuss "differences" with either of his parents. While talking up a blue streak about his computer game characters and sports figures until his parents need to run screaming away.
Meanwhile, I have all these things to SAY about life and no time to blog. So half-started posts until I can finish my thoughts, somewhat coherently.
Oh, and Mike.... Well, his work life continues in overdrive and he is working two different nights this week. Tonight is one of them and I'm letting Everleigh eat paper and pull out all the kitchen pots and pans while Ben writes Kyri's birthday thank you notes for her.
Which is just one of the many wonderful things about Ben.
Tonight, as I went to start dinner, he said, "I can make sandwiches. Because when Daddy is not here to help you, I should do it. I can do that." Which just made him extra kissable.
Then as we were eating dinner, he said, "Mom, you could be a chef. Because you like to make fancy things....Well, if you didn't have us." And I had to laugh because Ben chose to go to bed at 6pm last night rather than eat one bite of the dinner I had made for him. And he refuses to discuss it.
He is a wonderful, complex little boy who is fast on his way to manhood. And it is these moments that take me through these very tired days (and nights).

Kyrie cut her hair? but it was so cute. Hope it isn't butchered all over. (like I did to my youngest sister many years ago).
And Ben: what a guy. Bet the sandwiches were very tasty.
Judy
