• Kyrie came to me and said, "Mom, I hear Jesus in my heart." Priceless.
• Ben is studying Ancient History this fall. We've spent a lot of time on Egyptians and I'm amazed that he can keep all the Egyptian gods straight. (I still can't.) This last week we studied The Exodus from a historical perspective. For the first time I realized that nine of the ten plagues correlate to a belief in a God that the Egyptians held. Out of nowhere Ben said, "Mom, I know what this means. But I can't think of the word...." He took a minute and then said, "I've got it. The MORAL of the story is that monotheism defeats polytheism." Which pretty much stunned me. I didn't even know those words in first grade, let alone be able to analyze something that well. I'm a big fan of classical education.
