Some of you may remember my friend Heather whose husband died in February. Tragedy struck again when she was involved in a head-on collision on August 10. I've had trouble getting any information because she isn't able to answer calls but her big sister emailed today and told me a 16-year old (that she knew) crossed the line. Heather saw her and had a guardrail on one side, so she moved into the other lane. The 16-year old looked up and moved back into her own lane and hit Heather head-on. (The 16-year old walked away with a few bumps and bruises and a terrible mental load to carry.) Heather's airbag did not deploy so she took the full impact. She broke her collarbone, a bone in her leg, and her pelvis in two places. She has made it through at least one surgery but is still hospitalized.
Life is tough enough as a single mom running a business. She is going to have to leave her home and rent a single-level home because she won't be able to maneuver stairs for a very long time and may not be able to drive.
Please keep her and her girls in your prayers.

I am so sorry. This is such a horrible thing to happen to her after all she has already gone through. We will all pray for her.
