The Guilty Face

Last night I put two cookies out on the tall counter with a can of soup for Mike to take for his lunch. I wasn't downstairs when he left this morning but shortly after breakfast Kyri appeared with dark crumbs around her mouth. I asked her if she ate Daddy's cookies. Silence. She takes the 5th amendment very seriously and way out of context.

I called Mike. No, cookies weren't with the can of soup when he left for work. I confronted Kyri who said, "Oh." Like she had no idea.

Shortly thereafter she said, "I ate Daddy's cookies under my bed."

So we had the talk about if we have to do it under the bed, it is punishable. We'll be going over the sin of gluttony soon. But I'm still at a loss as to how to handle this particular scenario.

It's hard when they do things that are wrong, but kind of cute and funny at the same time! At least she semi-confessed.

(Yesterday Joe admitted to playing with an iron at my parents' house. Nothing cute or funny about that...)

You two talked. All done.
Anna's event makes cookies seem like small stuff!
Take care. Breathe.
