Random Bits of Life

  • I bought the bullet and bought a new cell phone. I tried the rice thing for a day but it was a business phone for the purpose of scheduling appointments and taking calls for my brother's law practice. Everything I heard and read suggested I had to wait to let it dry out for a week or two and we didn't have that. When I bought the new phone, the clerk told me that while I might have been able to get it working for awhile, the phone was damaged and wasn't going to last much longer. That made me feel a little better. I guess. Ah.
  • My babies have never liked the Baby Bjorn carrier much. But today I did manage to get Everleigh in it and she napped for a couple of hours. I made lunch without burning her on the hot stove but my movements are seriously impeded and my back is sore. Maybe I'm the one who didn't like the Baby Bjorn. Hmmm....
  • Kyrie likes to keep all of the baby equipment in constant use. So whenever you come to strap the baby in the swing, you'll find a doll or teddy bear strapped in. Ditto, the car seat. The baby bathtub. The cradle. You get the picture. It's really funny.
  • I changed three diapers (yes, those diapers) between 6:30am and 7am this morning. Ev may be sick but all systems are working well.
  • Mike is amazing. The man wrote 35 pages on a brief with a sick baby on his lap on Friday.
  • Ben continues to love geography. Since I typically have to nurse a baby about 6pm every night we've started watching Millionaire frequently. So now Ben walks around asking questions like: What place is closest to the size of Washington? A) Georgia, the state; B) Georgia, the country; C) California or D) Asia, the continent? I'm changing the "phone a friend" category to "seek answer on blog." Ben hasn't told me what I'll win, but help would be appreciated.

Sounds like everyone except Evie
is much better. Poor Ben. I know how scary that not breathing thing is and I know you were scared too.

I believe if Ben can keep you from getting any answers from others, he will be safe with offering tickets to the final four. Don't history and geography have some parallels?

We bought a baby carrier right before we got Baby A. I thought I'd use it every day, but probably only used it twice. It made my back hurt, too, and now he's outgrown it.

Mikea does the same thing as Kyrie with her dolls and stuffed animals. Don't you just love how little girls are wired to be nurturers?
