EVERLEIGH:
Old English origin, derived from ǣfre, meaning "eternal", and leah, meaning "meadow". Also associated with the Gaelic Eibhear, meaning "Irish". (If that didn't seal the deal.)
If that wasn't perfect enough, it was rare. So rare, it didn't show up in baby name books or on most websites. I found it on one. Rachelle loves rare.
The meaning brings to mind Psalm 23 and the "green pastures." It also made me think of a friend who always makes me feel refreshed, someone who brings rest and peace with them.
CLARICE: This is Rachelle's paternal grandmother's name. We love her and wanted to honor her. It didn't hurt that the name means "clear and bright" which are traits we would like this precious girl to have. We especially pray for her to have clarity of vision and to be a bright ray of hope to the world around her as she reflects the light of Christ.
We had no plans for a nickname but some are starting to call her Evie (short "e") like the 1970s Christian singer from Sweden.

Sounds good to me. Congratulations on your precious new baby! (And hurrah that she finally decided to arrive.)
