The Perfect Birthday

My day started off yesterday with a rose, chocolate bar, and pumpkin spice (decaf) latte. Today is a huge event day for my part-time job and I've spent much of the last month (and particularly last week) taking care of details like town car pickups, hotel reservations, faxed authorizations for the charges, and flight arrangements. A business associate I work with frequently was up from Phoenix for the event and I had one last fax to send. I ran to the office to meet her and send the fax and then came back home and Ben, Kyri and I joined Missi and Jade for a trip to the Puyallup Fair.

It was a foggy morning that broke into the most perfect sunny day as we arrived at the Fair. We found a perfect free parking spot right by the $10 parking lot (which is one of the details of life that makes me feel God is smiling on me). My mom called as we walked in the gates. And it was then I remembered that I had spent my birthday 25 years ago at the Puyallup Fair.

I will post a few pictures later from the fair where we all really enjoyed our time and took more time than we planned on.

When I arrived home I had an hour to get a little rest and change everyone's clothes (chocolate ice cream at the fair means a clothes change).

Then I went on a mystery date with my beloved. We dropped the kids off with friends of ours and then arrived at The Melting Pot and enjoyed a leisurely wonderful fondue meal. I arrived home late to a full email inbox with e-cards and greetings and Facebook messages and felt VERY blessed. Thanks to all of you for making me feel very loved and valued on my 39th birthday.
