A Marriage Proposal and a Man Campout

Kyri was at the park while Ben was at golf class. She managed to attract the attention of two little boys. One of them discovered he could make her laugh hysterically by repeatedly falling down in front of her. The other was far more serious and just as interested. Eventually the funny boy lured her to the other side of the playground where Mr. Serious wasn't allowed to go. So he talked to me. He was all of three and wearing a large crucifix (for a small guy). He proceeded to ask me serious questions about faith and witnessed about Jesus to me. He then informed me he intended to marry Kyri when he grew up. I told him he had my approval, but he had to be a little older. But we'll see....It looked like the funny guy was winning.

Ben and Mike spent a night camping with the Cook men (Dan, Jeremy, 5, and Evan, 4). Fortunately the campsite was about 20 minutes from our house since the cooler was forgotten in the mad melee that resulted in getting ready. This was fortunate for Kyri who didn't appreciate being left out of the all-male adventure. She had an hour at the campsite and her mom had an hour to herself while she went to retrieve the forgotten cooler. The moms (and sisters) stayed at the campsite until dark and then went home to their own respective and wonderfully comfy beds (well, at least mine was nice). Kyri and I had a mother-daughter outing to Panera which she enjoyed very much. The guys had a wonderful time and came home tired, sore, and filthy. We'll see if it becomes an annual event.

Better get used to this sort of thing with Kyri. :) Guys will be falling over for her for life, I think.

Dirty, sore, tired = good camping. :)

That is hilarious. :) I don't know... serious guys can win from time to time. It'll be exciting to see what happens in her life. What an eye opener though... Thankfully she's still only 2, not 22.

I knew that girl was like her Aunt Lindsay - we've got a thing for the ones who make us laugh :)
