Details UPDATED

I was asked to put this obituary up for family:

HENRY W PETERSON:

Henry William Peterson (95) was born in Oberlin, Kansas, on February 8, 1914, to Arthur and Jenny Peterson, and passed away on July 28, 2009, in Albany, Oregon. He was the second of four children and the only son.

His careers included that of a dairyman, driver of an oil tanker, construction worker, and logger. He married Myrtle Lee (deceased in 2008) in LaSierra, California in 1935. The family moved to Kansas in 1945, later moving to eastern Oregon, Idaho, and western Oregon. They settled in Roseburg in 1959 and in 2003 moved to Canyonville.

He enjoyed gardening, working in his shop, family camping, and hiking. He was an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist church. Since October 2008 he has been living in Albany.

He is survived by his three daughters, LeBerta Haynes of Clackamas, Oregon; Muriel Miner and her husband, Gary of Medford; and Marty Bigger and her husband, Rick of Corvallis. He has six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, as well as a sister, Ada Clements of Clark, Missouri and many friends plus his loving cat, Bunny.

A graveside service will be held at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Oakland, Oregon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in his memory to Gospel Outreach, PO Box 8, College Place, WA 99324, or to the Mennonite Village where he received such loving care: John Kollear, Foundation Director, Mennonite Village, 5353 Columbus St. SE, Albany OR 97322.

My grandfather's graveside funeral will be held Friday, July 31 at 11am at:
Cedar Hills Cemetery in Oakland, Oregon.
The address is 506 Green Valley Road.
Get off I-5 at Oakland, cross the little bridge,
drive through town and look for a cemetery.

We will miss my Opa so much but all of us are incredibly relieved that his suffering is over. My mom was able to be with him when he breathed his last shortly after 2am. I know she feels blessed that she was able to be with both of her parents at their deaths. We are praising God for 95 amazing years. And looking forward to a wonderful reunion someday in the sky.
