Stayin' in Touch

I was in the shower this morning when Ben knocked on the door (which he is finally trained to do and I'm so proud of it), and called out that he had just talked to Uncle Mark on the phone. I assumed he'd answered the phone, until he followed it with "and he was already awake." I followed up with: "Did he call you or did you call him?" "I called him."

Later he tried to explain why: "I heard the train whistle and thought of Grammy and so I called Mark." Hmmm.....

When I talked to Mark later, he said Ben told him he planned to clean his room today because it was a "real mess." (AMEN.) And Mark told him that he would also be cleaning his room today because it was also a mess.

Ben denies this part of the conversation altogether and added, "Grammy cleans Uncle Mark's room." We worked to correct the assumption that mothers clean their sons rooms. I told him that ended at age 5.
