Mom's Day weekend

We went to the zoo Saturday with friends (before our membership expires), picnicking with them before we went in. It was the only sunny day of the week and the zoo was crazy as a result. It was in the low 60s and a little chilly but the sun was so nice.

Yesterday I awoke and came downstairs to roses and homemade cards. I then proceeded to sleep most of the day as my daughter had cried every 10 minutes from 11pm to 3am. Her dad lasted until 12:20pm and then collapsed into a deep sleep. I tried everything, including sleeping on the couch downstairs but I could still hear her. She came up with all kinds of reasons: drink of water, new diaper, "owie" (that was never proved), but probably the most honest one was "play." Not cool. At 3am she finally became tired enough to go to sleep and I dropped into a deep sleep. But five hours simply wasn't enough. So Mike took the kids to church and sent me back to bed.

And then indulged my desire to have breakfast out at 6pm.
