I'm Going To Hawaii

...But will I come back?

After talking to my parents who assured me that they will watch my children and my daughter will be fine, I booked a one-way ticket to Maui. Seriously. We have an amazing mileage program that lets you book one-way award tickets and the flight Mike was on was the only one in the whole month that took the minimum amount of frequent flyer miles. I knew that could change in a heartbeat so I took it. It will cost me $2.50 to get there.

I won't have enough miles to book an award ticket back but I will have enough miles (7500) to book a half-price ticket home. (Seriously, Alaska Airline's mileage program is the best!) I haven't decided if I will stay the whole time or fly home a day or two earlier than Mike. I will go with whatever day offers the cheapest fare. But I don't have to decide for another month or two.

Good! Rich and I are both glad to hear it. If you need us to do anything for your children while you are gone, let us know. It's about time for you to take this trip! :-P~

A few weeks ago I heard a news story about Hawaii having problems with people who bought one way tickets, couldn't afford to go back, and are now homeless. Officials were trying to figure out ways to get them back to the mainland. Seriously!

But oh man, you are going to love it. Not that I've ever been. But WOW!! :)
