Hurray for those states whose lawmakers are currently working to pass laws requiring (some would just offer) pregnant women to have an ultrasound prior to an abortion. For some, it might be a wakeup call. And if Obama wanted to have any cred on his campaign promise to lower the number of abortions, he could always sign a federal law requiring ultrasound as a prerequisite on abortion.
Meanwhile, guess which states are the most dangerous place to try to be born and to live and die a natural death:
1. California
2. Hawaii
3. Vermont
4. New Jersey
5. Connecticut
6. Nevada
7. Oregon
8. New York
9. Washington
10. Illinois
The only surprises for me: that Nevada made the group and Washington and Oregon were not in the top 5.

I shouldn't be shocked that we're #1 but I am. I totally thought OR and WA would have topped us.
Georgia is doing something right. It has quite a few state legislators who are pro-life, including the lt governor. They were introduced at the Right to Life March in Jan. (many were present even though they were on break that week.)
They are working on passing a state constitutional amendent affirming life. It will hopefully be on the ballot in 2010.
**Interesting info gained at the Right to Life March.
