Ben had a birthday over the weekend and turned 5! He had a fun party with friends at Charlie's Safari and his mom made him a cake with candles as he requested. 
Ben is a fun boy who has lately become quite the charmer. He quite commonly compliments others on an item of clothing. (Women in dresses get LOTS of compliments.) When we were in DC, he and Mike got on an elevator with an attractive blonde. As the doors opened and he saw her, Ben turned to Mike and said, "Look Dad, we get to ride the elevator with this great lady." Mike says she was pleased. But before you peg him for a future politician (or used-car salesman), Ben has one problem: he frequently forgets names. But then he may learn to fake that better. We'll see.

I especially liked Ben's remark when I asked him if he was enjoying DC, "Now that I've seen you I am."
