After Ben's party, I took a rental car and drove down through flood-ravaged Washington to Ocean Park to meet up with some friends from college. Heidi lives in Siguiri, Guinea, West Africa. Kecia is about to head off to Sri Lanka to live and Rachael and her husband Cliff own the beach house we stayed in. Another friend, Lisa came up from California but she had to head back shortly after I arrived.
For two days and nights I didn't hear cries in the night (though I actually thought I did causing me grave concern over my mental condition), didn't help anyone cut their food, or put anyone to bed. And there were no toys to pick up.
We played games, talked until WAY TOO LATE at night, watched a movie, and ate. I did experience a not-too-fun migraine on Sunday afternoon and missed being in the photos. And managed to come away with no pictures. I think it was the first time in more than ten years that we've been all together and it was a nice break away from my regular (and much-loved) life.

How awesome! Glad to hear you had such a great time!
Sorry about the headache but sounds like you had a grand time otherwise. Good for you and good for Mike for taking over. He is great.
