On the Eve of....

My parents are a little bit excited today. I asked Ben and he thought maybe it was because tomorrow is my birthday! Wow! I am not sure what that means but he let me in on a little secret: you get presents! And I'll be 2 instead of 1. Ben says Mom and Dad had plans to get me a booster seat and he put his foot down and said, "No, she needs more toys." He also let me know I should be really glad he is around to watch out for me because he suspects our parents never got him presents for his birthday until he turned 4. He said our grandparents are more reliable.

I thought of ways I could celebrate this passing and decided that I don't really want to use my highchair anymore. I have been suggesting this for awhile but I just refused to sit in it yesterday and it worked. I get to sit at the table like everyone else. I'm considering doing the same with the bed situation.

Mom became really excited when I told her I had to go to the potty today. Usually I tell her after I already have; today for some reason I got to it sooner. She and Ben both clapped and told me "good job." Okay, whatever!

I'm really excited about this birthday thing now. And then Ben said that just in case Mom and Dad were really excited because people are choosing the president today, he'll make sure they don't forget my birthday tomorrow.
