from the mom
Part of the reason for our one-day trip to Canada is that M had a work retreat on the northwestern border of Washington. So we spent the weekend at Semiahmoo Resort.
M had a staff meeting at 2pm and our room was not ready. So for an hour the kids and I wandered desperate for naps. I finally checked at the desk again and our room still wasn't ready. However, we must have been a sight because the clerk offered a free upgrade to water-side. We took it.
The weekend was not without its challenges. M was busy during meals and so the other moms and I had to try to feed our children alone. Kyri couldn't sleep and felt we should share in her dilemma. Her dad worked during the day and took her out for a walk to meet the night shift at 1:30am. Ben couldn't obey.
But we had fabulous weather, enough that we even went swimming. Ben managed a free swimming lesson from Ms. Juliana and Kyri snuck into the steam room with me for a few minutes which seemed to help her cold.
We saw lots of seals, made new friends (Ben still talks about Lydia, Abraham, and Rachel), and I watched a porpoise out our room window during a beautiful sunset Saturday evening.
We arrived home Sunday afternoon, exhausted. And grateful. We do love these opportunities to travel and when we were rear-ended in Canada on Thursday, we were very thankful to be in an SUV with a good bumper. We suffered no damage and the little car who hit us didn't come out of it as well.

Glad to hear your accident didn't involve any damage. At least JP was only 3 blocks from home when he was rear-ended.
