The Little Caregiver

from the mom

Yesterday afternoon, both kids were at their table doing "activities"--cutting, drawing, coloring. I was sitting next to them on the floor "supervising" when suddenly the day's work overtook me and I became very tired. I put my head down on the floor for a minute. I heard Kyri get up and tried to groggily lift my head. Next thing I knew she had drug the blanket off the couch and covered me; then I heard her go to find me a pillow. Sure enough, back she came with a pillow and tucked me in for my nap. A daughter is a nice thing to have.

Addie is very good about doing that. Daphne more often will try to grab the blanket and pillow I'm using for her own use.

Stuart just snuggles down on top of me...and then wiggles!

It can get carried away, though. The low point of the past pregnancy was the night DOB fell asleep on the kids' floor trying to prepare them for bed. I was still on the couch trying to keep supper down for a few more minutes. The kids decided to tuck him in--so they dragged every blanket in the house and piled it on top of him.

Just wait until she can help you cook and clean house- (although sons can be good with that too)!
