School's Out

from the mom

Ben's last day of school for the summer was yesterday. I was overjoyed; he came home and cried.

I sat down with Slow and Steady and found the exercise for Ben's current age. At age 4, 23 weeks, they have the children working through the alphabet learning the upper case, lower case, and a word that begins with that letter. Ben is WAY past that. So we worked on Kyri's exercise and I let Ben help her. She was able to do a little coloring today with Ben instructing her on her colors and both of us saying either "up and down" or "back and forth" to help her learn the different actions. My summer resolution is to put a little more into structured activities for the kids since they both crave it. Wish me luck with that!
